Collection: Rhipsalis Palace

10 products

Rhipsalis is one of the most popular & unique plants we sell at Horticult! Currently, we have 8 different varieties in 6" hanging baskets for sale & 15 different varieties we use to choose from for unrooted cuttings, as well as for propagation. The number of varieties we have sold in 6" baskets changes regularly as we are constantly propagating different varieties of Rhipsalis so we constantly have plenty of full grown plants to sell & use for cuttings. It's always a shame when we run out a specific variety, but that means if there is a certain type you can't live without keep checking in to make sure we are not running low! With that being said, if all of the sudden you visit the site & the plant you've set your heart on is out of stock contact us. We might just have one or two extra plants that aren't listed on the site!

There are countless reasons why Rhipsalis is one of our favorite plants. To begin, Rhipsalis is a succulent that takes little to no maintenance. No matter which variety choose, they are all easy to take care of, making them the perfect plant for anyone, whether they be beginning green thumbs or expert horticulturalists. First & foremost our favorite attribute of the Rhipsalis plant is how each variety is so alike, yet so different. For example, while Rhipsalis hoelleri & Rhipsalis baccifera have almost identical growth patterns, once you take a close look you will see the stems of the hoelleri branch out in an almost perfectly perpendicular fashion, while the baccifera will continue to almost droop down.

As with most succulents, Rhipsalis only has to be watered a few times a week. Overwatering, or taking "too much care," of your Rhipsalis is the easiest way to harm your plant. Moreover, most succulents need a lot of sun, making them difficult to keep in your home unless they are in a window. Rhipsalis, on the other hand, like partial shade. This means it can be inside your house, but farther inside a room. Hanging from the ceiling, on a shelf trailing down a wall, or anywhere where it can drape down creates a unique aesthetic addition to any room. The most outstanding aspect of the Rhipsalis plant is how many different varieties there are. Collecting a diverse number species & arranging them together builds an eye catching design that will impress any person who sees it. Finally, if you keep them outside on a patio where they receive morning light & partial shade throughout the rest of the day you rarely have to take care of them. All you have to do is watch them grow!

As for those we sell at Horticult --

Every rooted Rhipsalis plant we have listed is sold in a 6" hanging basket. While the plant is shipped bare root, the dark green, plastic hanging basket is included with your purchase. The cuttings are sold in mix packs of 3 or 6 varieties, depending on your choice at purchase. Unless otherwise specified, we always do our best to send a mix of varieties that maintain different styles & shapes. Basically, every order will contain varieties that have overall unrelated appearances. With that being said, if there is a type of Rhipsalis you are fond of, a style you want most of the varieties in the pack to resemble, or even a specific plant you want included in your order, contact us! Find more details about this in the "Rhipsalis Unrooted Cuttings Variety Pack" product listing.
